It was launched in 2010. Facebook purchased it for nearly $1billion in 2012! What is it? It's Instagram!

The mobile app is wildly popular with young people. In fact, 90% of its users are under 35. But the oldest members of that group are in their 30s, working and earning a living with disposable income. When you add the fact that 60% of its user are women, the all-important buying demographic, suddenly Instagram is an attractive place to market you brand.

Co-hosts Bob Turner and Jason Goff discuss this mobile app on this week's podcast episode of Social Monday.

Twitter has changed how users will see tweets.  Gone is the reverse-chronological order of all tweets that has been a mainstay with Twitter since its inception.  Now users will see tweets based on relevancy, with a Facebook-like algorithm deciding what to show.

Twitter continues to tweak its service to attract business investment and advertisers.

Co-hosts Bob Turner and jason Goff also talk about Medium.  It's a content creation site similar to Tumblr. On Medium, though, the focus on writing good content.  If users like your story, then it can move up and be recommended to all users.  We explore this site on this week's episode of Social Monday.

Feb 7, 2016

It's Super Bowl week and Social Monday co-hosts Bob Turner and Jason Goff are talking about...what else...Google Plus!

The social site has been around since 2011, but it hasn't been an easy road.  With a unique feature that differentiates it from other social services, Google Plus tends to get lost, or to be compared to Facebook as a sort of knock-off.

Yet, for businesses, this social network has some real advantages.  Having an active presence on the site can help your website's search rankings.

So the question remains, what is the future for Google+?  Bob and Jason try to take that question on this week's episode of Social Monday.

Remember, make every Monday a Social Monday.

Founded in 2006, Twitter is one of the older social media sites still around. The site is known for the 140-character limit of its posts.

Despite the limitation, Twitter quickly grew into a power-house social site, reaching its one-billionth tweet in three years.

Monetizing this site, though has been a challenge for its founders. It went public in 2013 but executives have not been able to successfully grow the site or keep pace with its rival, Facebook.

Last week four executives left the social network, leaving many to wonder what the future of Twitter will be.

Co-hosts Bob Turner and Jason Goff take an in-depth look at Twitter and give some educated guesses on what the future might hold for the little blue bird.

Is Facebook dead?  With new sites such as Snapchat, Periscope and Blab, some wonder if the social site has seen better days.

But that is just not the case.

Facebook is far from being down.  It has a robust, dedicated community.  There are over 1.4 billion profiles on the network and every five seconds a new profile is created!  In addition, one billion searches are conducted on the site everyday!

These are hardly the stats of a dying channel.

Bob Turner and Jason Goff take an overview approach in their discussion and tell us why Facebook is still worth your time.

It's what we do to help start your week.  Make every Monday a Social Monday!

NEW TW PROFILEWelcome to Social Monday!

This is the last episode of the podcast...for Season One!  After twenty episodes of interviewing other marketing and social media professionals, co-hosts Bob Turner and Jason Goff take some time to tell you about themselves and their businesses.

Jason works with non-profit organizations and talks about the unique challenges he faces working in that sector and how to make social media work well with these types of organizations.

Bob's business, Social Flair, works with small businesses and medical practices.  Bob explains how the medical field has changed due to large health networks.  For any private practice that wants to stay independent, they must find and attract new patients.  That means they must market themselves.

Season Two of Social Monday will begin in January 2016.
